Daytona Test

Daytona 24 hours with G&W I just signed on with G&W Motorsports to drive at the Daytona 24 hours race. I am really excited about the possibility to drive with them. For months I have thought that they would be the team to beat at Daytona this year. They gear up to win.

We have been trying to get together since last year. I have been working on my full season in ALMS (which I will announce shortly) and wasn't sure how that would affect Daytona. I am glad that it worked out. I will be driving with Darren Law (G&W's full time driver), Cort Wagner, and Matt Drendel. It is a great line up of drivers that compliment each other. The team is so well organized and works so well together due to Cole Scrogham hiring the right people and instilling a family type atmosphere. It really is great to be with a team that works so hard and well at something but does it in a positive light. I can see where Cole gets it from though, his dad is a really neat guy.

Testing went very well. The car was good right from when they unloaded it off the trailer. We made a few changes and most worked to gain lap time and drive ability, the latter the most important. 24 hours is a long time to drive a car and the easier it is to drive the less prone to problems you will have. We would like to stay out of the pits which is the only way to win a race like that.

More on the ALMS plans later.
